MPSC (Maharashtra PSC) Photo & Signature Size

Application-specific notes for MPSC

• MPSC asks for a SOLID COLOUR background and names blue, green or red as preferred, which is unlike the plain white almost every other application here asks for. The notice states a preference rather than prohibiting white outright, but a white-background photograph prepared for another exam should not be reused without checking your own advertisement.
• The photograph is 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm in formal dress, full face directly to camera, with no shadows and no red-eye, as .jpg or .jpeg up to 50 KB. It must carry nothing else: no watermark, no stamp, and no name of the mobile app used to scan it, which rules out most free scanner apps that brand their output.
• The file name itself is limited to ten characters. That is easy to miss and easy to fix before you upload.
• The signature is signed in black ink on blank white unlined paper.
• Use a single-coloured sheet or board to create the flat solid backdrop the notice requests. The notice asks that the scan carry no additional content, so prefer a physical backdrop to an edited one and check that lighting has not created a visible gradient or shadow.
